Quality Clydesdales
Located in the
Green Mountain State
Welcome to our small farm! We raise our foals hands-on from birth, focusing on quality, trust, and good horsemanship. We also offer driving lessons with our experienced show horses, giving you the chance to learn firsthand behind these gentle giants. Whether you’re here to learn, visit, or simply enjoy the horses, we’re happy to share our farm with you.
Our Mares
The heart of the farm is the broodmare. Without our dual purpose mares we would be nothing! From our first mare Bailey to the newest on the farm Amanda has always connected best with a strong mare. Our focus in on mares with quality hair, confirmation and work with their character to have them in jobs that best fit their personalities
Our Stallion
We are proudly covering our mares with this stunning 4-year-old Clydesdale stallion with a naturally high head carriage and eye-catching presence, Wild Wood STR Chupacabra (aka Stryker) will add the look we are wanting with our foals. Along with his great looks he has a mind set for good work and play. Styker is a pleasure to be around while being a total goofball in the pasture
Our Gelding
Although geldings don’t have a huge part of a breeding farm this boy has a huge part of both Corey and Amanda’s hearts. Cedarlane Just Smoking’ Joe was originally purchased to be a potential breeding stallion his sassy attitude and the purchase of Stryker changed the farm’s plans, but not the feelings of how Joey belonged on the farm in other positive ways.
Who We Are Together…
Meeting and joining forces in 2016, both Amanda and Corey brought years of horse experience and passion to this partnership. Coming from non-horse families and becoming a first generation in a field of competition that is backed by generations, the Barnes are well aware how it feels to start some where in this sport without having a known resource to lean on besides each other.
Meet Amanda…
Getting her first horse at ten years of age it didn’t take long for to be testing out every discipline known to horses. Living by the quote; a jack of all trades and master of none, Amanda wears many hats on the farm, trainer, breeder, stall hand and office manager. Passionate about the connections with the horses and sharing with the public, Amanda is happiest behind the scenes.
Meet Corey…
Corey’s love of the classic clydesdale look and the adrenaline of showing is what truly started the farm and gives us a purpose. He purchased his first Clyde in 2014 a sweet mare named Sophie and his first show quality gelding in 2016. He is best with human connections and getting Amanda what she needs to keep the farm rolling.
Sharing the Farm
All the best things in life are made better with sharing with others. So either knowledge or just Clydesdale cuddles opening up to help others truly adds to the experience of raising and working with amazing animals.
Already working with the Green Mountain Draft Horse Association on having a spring driving clinic, Amanda has taught for over 15 years and always felt that some students were needing more and looking forward to providing just that to those who want to take their learning serious.
Times for personal tours of the farm to see the foals or capture photos of the horses in the pasture also able to be scheduled
Sleigh Rides
Living in Vermont it would be hard to deny that winter is a large factor of our farm. Without sleigh rides there wouldn’t be a shining lining of the dark long days. Either a romantic single sleigh runs at night or a boat tube behind a drag to have the kids on snow days we will go out for a donation, treat delivery or a card from children. Reach out to plan a trip custom with your family!
Driven by curiosity and built on purpose, this is where bold thinking meets thoughtful execution. Let’s create something meaningful together.
